La Maison Blanche is an ideal choice for families, couples or friends! Ideal for exploring all the Loire Valley sites!
Located in the central Loire region, the Maison Blanche is in the shadow of the spectacular chateau Langeais! The Loire valley, known as the garden of France, is an enchanted land of vineyards, flowers and rolling green hills dotted with more than a thousand chateaux. It is perfect for bicycling holidays, visiting castles on the Chateaux trail, wineries on the "route des vins”, eating great food!
Langeais is classed among the UNESCO world heritage sites! In November 2000, the Loire Valley, between Chalonnes and Sully-sur-Loire, was put on the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. "The Loire Valley is an outstanding cultural landscape, including historical towns and villages, great architectural monuments - the chateaux - and cultivated land, fashioned by centuries of interaction between the people and their physical environment, including the Loire itself."
The Chateau Langeais is a prestigious 15th century chateau, in which the marriage between Charles VIII and Anne de Bretagne was sealed in 1491. This medieval fortress is interesting to visit: one of the oldest square keeps in France, a working drawbridge, a walk round the battlements with machicolations, a superb collection of tapestries and furniture. And there is a famous porcelain collection.
There are many activities to keep the family happy! Langeais has everything you need from supermarket to post office to train station. There is a public swimming pool open in summer. Alternatively there are several small lakes in the forest, which have man-made sandy beaches suitable for swimming. Tennis, rugby, football are available. There is a Municipal Theatre for plays/shows/movies etc…
Nearby are the medieval market town of Bourgueil, a market town, being the centre of the famous Bourgeuil red wine, with a 16th century abbey. Chinon is an attractive medieval town with its ruined Chateau and atmospheric streets. Chateau of Villandry, famous for its beautiful formal gardens. Chateau of Usse, the fairytale chateau that was the inspiration for the ‘sleeping beauty’ story. Azay-le-rideau is an attractive medieval town with an extremely pretty Chateau on a river. Saumur Famous for its chateau and home to the french cavalry as well as several museums. Tours is a large progressive city with stylish shops, a charming old town, Gothic cathedral, and medieval buildings. Rent a car for a day, or take a tour, and visit some of the most beautiful castles in France built along the Loire river valley: Chenonceaux, Chambord, Blois, Amboise, and Angers.
WINE! Loire is home of Sancerre, Pouilly, Bourgueil, Anjou and other white finest wines.
Troglodyte caves to visit!
Mushroom farms! Visit the mushroom museum in Saumur!
Getting here is easy! Only 1.5 hrs from Paris!

Thank you so very much! My family, husband and children, really enjoyed our holiday at your wonderful house! The house is so beautiful and comfortable! We wanted to stay longer!
