The house is built around a beautiful open courtyard decorated in a Moroccan style. The main living area is an L-shaped split level open plan dining, sitting and TV room leading out to a covered terrace which overlooks the heated pool and the wonderful gardens. Alhaurin el Grande is a town located in the province of Malaga, 30 Kms. from the capital city, and at 239 meters above the sea level. It is one of the most picturesque towns in the Guadalhorce river valley and it is situated between the river Fahala and the stream of Blas Gonzalez. The Arabs named it Alhaurin, which some historians translate as "the valley", from the Arab root "Al-Haur", due to its situation upon the valley of the Fahala river, while other historians consider the name originating from the Arab word "Alhauerin" which means "Almighty God".

The town has excellent shops, restaurants, bars and other amenities that you may require on holiday. There are many local recreations - see Activities below.

The coast is much closer than you may think, with Fuengirola and Mijas just along a winding road round the mountain and there is a new road through to Marbella, to the south west. The rolling hills and wide open spaces give a feeling of space from all around the town. The nearest towns are Coin and Alhaurin de la Torre. With Andalucia's excellent new road network, Alhaurin is within easy reach of Malaga, Granada, Sevilla, Ronda and the many picturesque hillside towns and villages in the region.

The Southeast of the municipal boundary is mountainous and the rest consist of plains. It has a very mild climate with light winds that blow predominately from the North and West.

Notes on the Rental Rates

Booking periods are normally Saturday to Saturday, with some flexibility. Arrivals are after 5pm on the day of arrival; departure is by 10 am please. There is a small surcharge of Euro 50 if you leave the villa before 8am. A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking. Full payment within 6 weeks of arrival date. A security deposit of £500 is required at the same time as the final payment.

Transportation can be arranged to and from the airport at extra charge on request, however a car is essential as the villa is a five minute downhill drive to the town centre (at least 1.5km).

Cots and high chairs are available on request - rental costs payable to our agent locally. We can also arrange for a chef for special occasions or for evening meals, subject to pre-booking and availability. Again, payment will be made direct locally.

The swimming pool can be heated, but at an extra charge of £50 per week. It is worth considering heating the pool pre-June and after September.
