Olympia - An apartment designed for total pampering.
This luxury apartment has a central feature of a full length claw-foot bath in the sitting room which has wall to wall windows giving stunning views over the sea.
The spacious double bed faces more wall to wall windows which have views across the sea to the island Poros.
There is a private safe in your room to keep all your valuables.
Both your balconies are spacious and private.
You have full use of the privately run exclusive Spa on the ground floor. Here you can swim in an ozone cleansed pool with a seperate jacuzzi both housed in a blue conservatory with a retracting roof for hot weather.
You can freely use the Hammam, a well equipped gym and the sauna. A masseur, a hairdresser and a therapist offering a variety of body and face therapies are also available.
Attached to the Spa is a cafe/bar were you can sip on something cooling. The sea is 20 meters from the door and various beaches are all minutes away by car or water taxi (for a couple euros.)
Galatas
The apartments are located in a small independent spa near the water's edge in Galatas.
Galatas is a traditional Greek village with cafes, tavernas, shops and supermarkets. There is some nightlife but generally this is a quiet village - take the taxi boat across to Poros (leaves every ten minutes, 70 cents per person) for a lively night out!
Being on the mainland, Galatas gives you great accessibility to many of the Greek attractions.
Epidavros, the best preserved ancient amphitheatre anywhere is half an hours drive away.
Mycenae, with Agammemnon's 'beehive' tomb can be reached within the hour.
The attractive old capital of Naflion, with its island fort (which you can visit by boat for 4 euros a person) or gaze up at Palamidi castle 999 steps above the town, is also only an hour away.
There is also great walking around Galatas. The 'Devils Gorge' in nearby Trizoina, cool all the year round provides pleasant walking in the shade of trees one way and interesting 'scrambling' down to a cool bathing pool the other way.
There is also an old 'lemon forest' on the outskirts of Galatas.
Poros
Has a bit of everything, you can find idyllic sandy coves shaded with trees or you can go to full beaches and watch the people going by.
Water sports and shops... Tavernas tucked away around corners... Narrow white washed paths between old stone houses... Corners that have been lost to the world.
The far side of the island also has some more remote beaches with little or no facilities which you will have to drive to.
You can take you car across from Galatas by the 'big boats' which cross every twenty minutes to half an hour. Or if you fancy a day's excursion you can take the ferry or the 'flying dolphin' (hydrofoil) to the nearby islands of Hydra and Spetses.
Or to go a little further by boat you can take a one day cruise up to Tolo and attractive fishing village not far from Nafplion. Or maybe you will just sit and drink up the sunshine on your own private balcony that views it all.
Getting There
Frequent hydrofoils serve Poros from Athens, and the trip only takes an hour. Driving from Athens is easy too - around two hours.
There are frequent boats and car ferries across the narrow strip of water between Poros and Galatas, for less than a euro for foot passengers.
