Lesvos has been a coverted destination for artists, writers and romantics for decades and with good reason. It's natural attractions include a petrified forest, hot Springs and accompanying health inducing spas that are sprinkled around Lesvos. Exploring Lesvos will be a joy be it by donkey or horseback, cycling, 4WD, or just on foot,or push the boat out and charter a yachtand driftround the coast.

The island is full of Award-winning beaches, traditional villages, and, they say, more varieties of birds and wild flowers than anywhere in Europe. There are pine forests, medieval castles, scenic harbors with cafes and inexpensive seafood restaurants. There are museums including two of the finest art museums in Greece, and some of the warmest, most hospitable people in all of Greece.

If you can come to Lesvos in the Spring you will amazed at the incredible displays of wildflowers and wildbirds. Lesvos is a main stop in the migration routes for European birds coming from Africa. If you are a birdwatcher to any degree this is an island paradise for you. May is the best time.

The price of a holiday in Lesvos is a fraction of the cost of the more well known Greek islands and mainland destinations. It's a large island with plenty to see. It is roomy enough that you could fit your average Cyclades islands in the Bay of Kaloni. The beautiful Vatera beach stretch as long as many of the Cyclades islands themselves.

Molyvos Beach is the nearest beach to this villa which is found in the northern area of Lesvos island, 62 km from Mytilene town.
Molyvos beach has a pebbled seaside and a sandy seafloor. Great for avoiding sandy shoes but perfect for bathing. It has been certified with the EU Blue Flag, which indicates the cleanness of its waters.

This beach is great natural environment and it is well-organized, offering many water-sports. If you like snorkeling, there are areas of rocky coast that are ideal for exploring.

Getting to Lesvos.

Lesvos is easily reachable by ferry or plane from Athens, andthere are also charter flights from many European cities. You can fly directly from the USA to Lesvos with a change of planes in Athens. The airport of Lesvos "Odysseas Elytis" is situated 8 kilometres south of Mytilene. Molyvos is 42 miles from the airport and takes about 1 hour 25 minutes if you take it steady. The port is 58 kilometres from Molyvos and cost about 5 euros a person.

A week's stay will just not seem like enough. After two weeks you may feel like you have seen enough to wish to see more. A month will still leave you wanting. From the fantastic beach town of Skala Eressos to the progressive yet traditional village of Molyvos.
