A stay at Delenia on the South Eastern coast of Evia is far more than just a holiday. It is an experience that stimulates the senses and soothes the soul...

You'll always remember the time you spent in this perfect little piece of Greece.

Perched on the rocks above the Aegean sea, Delenia embraces the sunrise and offers breathtaking panoramic views from the extensive grounds.

Situated in south Evia, it is a mere 1.5 hours from the International Airport, and yet the estate itself lies on an undiscovered corner of the Aegean. Delenia offers a unique combination of easy accessibility and complete privacy.

Delenia consists of a total of 6 buildings; there are five bedrooms (all en-suite, with their own cooling systems, fireplace and under floor heating for the winter months), two kitchens, two living rooms, one study and three dining areas.

The outdoor spaces are the epicenter of life in the summer months, and have been designed accordingly: a large terrace with clear views of the Aegean; two al fresco dining areas, plus a stone barbeque and traditional Greek bread oven; tennis and basketball courts; an outdoor four-poster bed; and, of course, the sea water swimming pool.

The layout encourages togetherness, but also allows for privacy. Guest rooms are spread over three buildings, each one independent from the other, and entirely self-sufficient.

The main building comprises of a large living area: a kitchen, a dining room (table for 16), living room and one double bedroom. This is the David McTaggart room, and offers exquisite views of the Aegean from the bed.

The second building houses the master bedroom, and, again, exceptional sea views of from the bathtub. There is also a large study and kitchen area here. Absolute privacy guaranteed.

The third building consists of three large bedrooms – all with their own individual character and layout. The first one, Chryssa’s room is the largest and has ample desk space for studying or working; the second, the Turkish room, has two double beds; and the third, ‘to paidiko’ or the children’s room, is a playground for young and old alike, with lofts, Tarzan ropes, and firemen’s poles.

The hammam – or Turkish steam room and sauna, all built in stone and in keeping with the general aesthetic of Delenia. Next to it is an outdoor Jacuzzi.

Woodwork workshop – where all the furniture, and wooden structures were made, in locum.

Cottage at the edge of the estate, designed for independence; this has traditionally been inhabited by the personnel (cook and gardener); it is perfectly suitable for those wishing to accommodate a large party, and have little need for staff. [to be discussed].

An airport pickup service and the use of a car with a driver are available, please contact us to discuss these options.

Daily maid service is included in the price, as is catering - one meal per day (food costs additional). Additional catering on request.

Swimming - as well as the swimming pool there are places to swim off the rocks immediately below the estate, just a minute or two by foot. The nearest sandy beach is a short drive away (10 minutes).

Daily cooking, cleaning and chauffeur services are provided by resident staff, who will also assist with use of the facilities, and their knowledge of the local area.

Staff will prepare one meal a day, and can do the supermarket shopping, as required (they will take care of the cleaning up after the main meal; there is also a large dishwasher in the main kitchen).

Staff speak English, Greek, Georgian and Russian. The cook, Thea, who has a wide range of Georgian, Greek and Continental dishes in her repertoire, is a trained primary school teacher, and can also offer child-minding services (this is not included in the rental price of the villa, and should be arranged directly with her). The driver, Nikos, has the use of a 4X4 Subaru Forrester, and is on-hand for supermarket runs and trips to nearby beaches (cost of petrol to be covered by guests, according to use). He is also able to drive guests on sight-seeing trips to the ancient towns of Karystos or Eretria, or the mysterious Dragon Houses (Drakospita) which are dotted across southern Evia (also spelt Euboea). Again, this is not included in the rental price of the villa, and should be arranged directly with him.

There is an aviary which often means fresh free-range eggs in the mornings, and organic herbs such as basil are also grown on the estate. There is a garden plot with organic tomatoes and other seasonal vegetables.

Situated on the South Eastern coast of Evia, Delenia is in a private position with no immediate neighbours, yet still conveniently close to Athens, and accessible by car.

The nearest village is 20 minutes away, and a car is essential. One car comes as standard with the rental, but if your group is large you may need to rent another one or two. The driver and the cook can pick up groceries for you if you do not want to drive into the village.

Airport pickup and drop off is also included in the price. There will be a driver with one car which some of the party can travel in while the rest of the group will be in cars which they have hired at their own expense.

The estate is right on the water's edge, with a path leading down to the sea.

There are sandy beaches nearby too.
