A sunny studio apartment in the very heart of Hydra island town offering stunning views and tranquility whilst enjoying its own privacy.
The apartment is ideally laid out with more living area outside than inside.
A romantic hideaway at its best with kitchen, shower room and sitting room/bedroom inside and a choice of vine covered private courtyard for the heat of the day outside or the spacious roof terrace either for sunbathing or for the cool of the evening to watch the lights of the boats coming and going in Hydra harbour.
The studio itself offers about 30m2 of living space, and the courtyard is somewhat larger. There is a wall around he courtyard on the road side to give privacy, and in the summer months the vine provides plenty of shade. The studio has air-con.
A small lower garden has a lemon tree and flowers (use the lemons if you wish).
The views from the roof terrace and the sitting room window are stunning with a panorama over Hydra down to the harbour and across the blue sea to mainland Greece. From here you can watch as the Athenians arrive in their huge yachts at the weekend tangling their anchors with the small local fishing boats in the harbour and at the general passing of life during the week.
This romantic, comfortable, private oasis is a short (5 - 7 minutes) walk up shallow steps from the harbour, and there are shops nearby.
Hydra town has plenty of good tavernas and cafes.
When you imagine a perfect Greek island Hydra is it.
Now imagine yourself sitting on your roof terrace with the island laid out all around you; red roof tops cascading to the harbour, swimming in crystal clear waters, goat tracks, coastal walks, pine forests, deserted bays, narrow cobbled lanes to get lost in with unexpected chic shops round corners, busy and quiet bars and traditional tavernas, sea front cafes and friendly locals! There are day trips to other islands such as Spetses, Poros, Dokos, Aegina and Agistri.
What truly gives Hydra its unique feel are the strict building regulations which keep everything in traditional harmony & the fact that the only mode of transport is donkey.
There are no roads and no cars or bikes. Everywhere is a short walk or, if you like, a donkey ride away.
The traditional way of building and lack of motorised transport keep the pace of life in Hydra as it was 100 years ago, delightfully steady & gentle. There is time to talk, time to smile, time to relax. On Hydra the world is still a beautiful place.
Local activities include swimming, walking, sailing, fishing, wind-surfing, water skiing, diving and more!

Thank you so much - we had the most relaxing holiday we've ever had. We'd planned to do daytrips off the island but could never quite muster the energy to leave! And the sunsets were so wonderful - sigh. Thank you again for all your help - everyone's been so lovely and helpful. Will hope to book another apartment with you in the future. With all good wishes - have a lovely summer! - Chrissy Williams , UK
